Thank you for visiting my page! I was born and raised in Indiana, growing up in Indiana, and living in the Hamilton Heights School District for the past 13 years. My husband, Tony, and I have spent the last 15 years together, raising three wonderful children and our two dogs and cats. Our kids and even our dogs keep us busy with their extracurricular activities and sporting events. As most parents can relate, managing schedules is quite the task but I always make sure that everyone gets where they need to be everyday.
For the past 15 years I have proudly worked in the healthcare profession. First as a Home Health Aide, while working towards my Practical Nurse license. I then later went back to school to become a Registered Nurse. A majority of my time in practice has been spent working with some of our most vulnerable populations; people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities as well as seniors. My time working with these populations lead me to a passion for education. After receiving certification I pursued a career as a Workforce Specialist Instructor. For the past four years I have had the distinct pleasure of preparing high school seniors for careers as healthcare professionals. Additionally, I have been able to work with adults to assist them in furthering their skills within the healthcare field. With a unique perspective in both hands-on and educational work; I am confident in my understanding of the effects that healthcare and education has on vulnerable populations and students.
We have witnessed a social and political divide in our country since the 2016 presidential elections and Indiana is no exception. Many of our lawmakers have been sitting in office, uncontested, for far too long. We are currently ranked with some of the lowest quality healthcare, health outcomes, education, economy; Indiana is even ranked low in overall happiness. It is absolutely the time for change in our wonderful state. I intend to be a strong voice and advocate for constituents in my district as we continue to build a better future for Indiana.
The State House needs to be filled with members who will put their constituents first. We need a State House who will take the lives of Hoosiers seriously and protect the rights of our most vulnerable and underrepresented citizens. We need Representatives who will make sure our educators have the tools and resources to provide exceptional education, regardless of students’ income or zip code. We need a focus on trade programs, adult education, and retraining programs that give our citizens better opportunities in the workforce. We need State Representatives who will prioritize the health of their citizens and their access to quality care. We must uplift and maintain the infrastructure and charm of our small cities and rural towns ensuring job security and proper funding. With your support, I will be that vote and will push for the legislation that will champion our citizens.
I hope that I can count on your support as I continue to fight for you and your family everyday.
